Des Peres is a city located in St. Louis County, Missouri. The first inhabitants of the area were the native Cahokia, Kaskaskia, Michigamea, Moingwena, and Tamaroa tribes — all part of the Osage Nation. The name Des Peres is French, and means “of the Fathers.” As of 2010, Des Peres had a population of 8,373 residents.
